Planned Parenthood Pennsylvania PAC endorsed Dan Gilman for re-election to Pittsburgh City Council on Thursday. Planned Parenthood PA acknowledged “unprecedented attacks” in recent years to reproductive rights and women’s health. Their endorsement of Gilman cited his “committment to protecting reproductive health and access to family planning services.”

Earlier in the week, Gilman co-sponsored a Will of Council in opposition to Pennsylvania Senate Bill 300. This bill would cut crucial funding to health centers which provide repoductive health care and family planning services, including Planned Parenthood. In the Will of Council, City Council denounced efforts to reduce state funding for such vital healthcare services in Pennsylvania.
